Why These Three?
In the following pages, you will learn about the first three simple machines: the lever, the wheel & axle, and the inclined plane. These three machines are the most basic of the six simple machines. Levers, wheel & axles, and inclined planes are the most "basic" machines because they help form the other three simple machines.
